Ever since the release of Energon Shockblast, I've had a love/hate relationship with the mold. It's a great mold in robot mode, and is not so bad in satellite mode. The tank mode is horrid though, and I was not really thrilled with the deco scheme in either its Shockblast or Sixshot incarnations.
Shockwave is probably my favorite G1 character, and the bright colors just were not fitting.
Recently, I finally broke down and picked up an Energon Sixshot, but the hideous mustard yellow was driving me insane. I decided that I was going to do a repaint of my own. It took me awhile to settle on a scheme, but I'm finally done.

Great Transformers Energon Scorponok Pic
Terrorcon leader Scorponok. With Divebomb perched upon him, in the vague analogy to a parrot sitting atop a pirate's shoulder-board. I think. Anyway, Energon Scorponok is a superb toy and deserves a place in any Transformers collection. The figure is not only a G1 homage (based upon the Headmaster Scorponok, of course) but also reminds me of the Transmetals from Beast Wars - it has a beast mode (kind of) and a third 'vehicle' form which is basically the beast mode contorted slightly awkwardly. In addition, the scorpion mode isn't *really* Beastly. It's a strange combination of scorpion and an almost streampunk construction vehicle. I'm reminded there of the Vehicon toys - and I mean the toys, not the TV show animation models - from Beast Machines, many of which were vehicles with a Beast influence (e.g. the insectoid design of Thrust)
